I am an ecologist and place-based science communicator studying the semi-arid ecosystems of the Colorado Plateau.
I have spent the last decade working in deserts across the American Southwest and was selected as a Wyss Scholar for Conservation of the American West for my research on dryland restoration. I am currently a research associate (post-doc) at the Jornada USDA ARS. As the founder and Board Chair of the Science Moab Engagement Initiative, I work to engage communities with regional science. I can be heard as the host and co-producer of the science podcast, Science Moab, and my writings on dryland science can be read in Forbes.com Science, High Country News (reprinted in Mother Jones), the Salt Lake Tribune, and The Dust Magazine |
